Taking our pledge is cute, but what’s next? In Step #1, agencies needed to take the time and acknowledge how they’d like to participate in our program.

Now, it’s time to do the work, get buy-in at a senior level and get the right team assembled. These confirmed agencies are ready to fully commit from a senior leadership level.

How did you go from 71 agencies to 21 confirmed agencies?

Because buy-in matters! We love the support from the individual pledgers but in order to move to the next phase, each pledger has to get their agency senior leadership to commit. The IN FOR 13 commitment requires more Black leaders within the existing senior leadership team, so of course each agency’s senior team has to be on-board and ready to tackle this initiative.


Being that we’re in the midst of a pandemic and most senior leadership are busy trying to keep their agencies' doors open and managing budgets, how do we keep this top of mind to create action? Until agencies feel confident and can actually actionably commit, they may take more time and encouragement to get IN.
